Closer,and brilliant beams of light cut across rooftops and sections of stands becomevisible between the terraced housing. This work tries to capture the excitement and intrigue that builds onapproach to a night time football match below the lights. The images, taken at Northern Ireland premierleague grounds, are also a comment on the standing of Northern Irelandsforemost football league. Without thefunding and popularity of the English game, football here remains an amateursport. A game of, declining attendancesand investment, which is struggling to maintain its once deep-rooted positionwithin the local communities where its grounds are housed.
